1. How much does it cost to list?
Listing on RentSpace is free. We charge a small processing fee to the host and a booking fee to the guest.
2. How much fees does RentSpace charges hosts?
Although RentSpace charges a 7% credit card processing fee to the host on each transaction. If you sign up and list before 15th October 2018, your listing is locked in to a reduced rate of 3%.
3. How much booking fees do guests pay?
Users can pay anywhere between 5% to 15% depending on the booking transaction amount, the use, buyer’s willingness to pay, and many other factors. Most average bookings see a charge of 10%.
4. Is there a contract to list?
There is no contract to list on RentSpace. If you do accept a booking, we ask that you honor your commitment and allow the user to use the facility as intended.
5. Is this an exclusive contract?
No, listing on RentSpace is not exclusive. We are a tool to get you additional revenue. Additionally, we sync with your existing calendars to ensure that we are compatible with your existing processes.
6. Do I need insurance?
7. Does RentSpace provide insurance?
No, RentSpace does not provide any insurance at this time. Please consider using security deposit feature and screening booking requests to ensure you are always in control.
8. Can I collect Sales tax?
RentSpace has build features allowing you to collect any applicable sales taxes. It is your responsibility to set and collect based on your region. Please consult your accountant for more information.
9. Why does RentSpace need my EIN number/ (SSN for individuals)?
RentSpace is required to collect your EIN number (business accounts) or SSN (individual accounts) in order to make payments to your bank account. We submit that information to the IRS at the end of the year. Your information is safely handled using Stripe (Stripe.com), a leading payment processor used by all major apps such as – Target, Blue Apron, Lyft, InstaCart, SalesForce & Shopify. We also use this to prevent fraud listings on the platform.
10. The guest was a no-show? What should i do?
Things happen, sometimes guests are unable to fulfill their commitments. You are not required to refund any amount unless specified in your cancellation policy.
11. When does RentSpace pay the host?
RentSpace pays most of the booking amount within 24 hours of the start of the booking date/time. Some transactions can take up to 3 business days.
